Reston, United States Applied Research Associates (ARA) Full time

The Capital Area Division (CAD) of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Intelligence Management Specialist capable of supporting a staff of intelligence professionals by executing a broad range of administrative, management, and oversight activities that enable unit success.  This position reviews, tracks, and maintains accountability for reports, assessments, and other deliverables produced by a diverse staff of analysts, engineers, and scientific experts. This position tracks and manages both internal and external requests for support and production and conceives, designs, and helps implement proposals that will improve work processes, programs, and operations. The Intelligence Management Specialist routinely coordinates and supervises official responses to senior leader engagements and briefings and ensures all relevant support metrics are archived and replicable. The position also interfaces with other staff support elements within the Defense Intelligence Enterprise to ensure internal processes and functions are appropriately enabled. The Intelligence Management Specialist provides guidance to less experienced staff, reviews the work of others, and provides guidance and direction to staff. The position is expected to understand and articulate official government analytic positions during customer engagements and represent Defense Intelligence Enterprise analytic units as directed.

This position is contingent upon contract award with an anticipated start date in November 2024.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS or BA degree and tangible intelligence analysis experience
  • 5+ years of experience with intelligence analysis, including employing multi-INT databases to develop analytic assessments and briefings
  • Working familiarity with established Intelligence Community directives, standards, and tradecraft documents
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within or lead a team of peers, as well as excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to communicate complex analyses at a level comprehensible to diverse military audiences and senior-level government representatives
  • Ability to clearly express in writing technical analysis results and program characterizations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of state nuclear, biological, and/or chemical (NBC) programs, strategic weapons developments, and WMD-related proliferation and procurement
  • Experience with intelligence production and/or collection management

  • Proficiency guiding the resolution of complex problems or issues associated with an all-source intelligence production element
  • Word, Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
  • Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree and/or technical training applicable to the WMD problem set
  • Military or defense-related experience and working familiarity with strategies, policies, and plans that enable defense against CBRN threats and prevent the proliferation of WMD
  • Experience integrating intelligence and information that informs and enables CWMD exercise planning and execution
  • Understanding of the Defense Intelligence Enterprise, DIA, and Service intelligence production centers
  • Experience effectively devising, utilizing, and communicating methodological approaches to complex problem sets
  • Familiarity working with counterproliferation-related and S&T analytic centers within the DOD, IC and/or Interagency
