Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist to provide comprehensive speech and language services to students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in speech-language pathology, experience working with school-aged children, and a passion for helping students overcome communication challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct speech and language assessments to identify students' needs and determine appropriate interventions.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language impairments.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students, including individual and group sessions.
  • Monitor and document students progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' communication goals and integrate therapeutic strategies into the classroom.
  • Provide guidance and support to teachers and parents regarding strategies to enhance students' communication skills.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to student evaluations and IEP meetings.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of therapy sessions and student progress.
  • Stay current with developments in the field of speech-language pathology and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Current Connecticut State License in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
  • Experience working with school-aged children and familiarity with the IEP process.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based practices in speech-language therapy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a school setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
