OverviewMoraine Park Technical College is actively seeking a highly qualified and dedicated individual for the position of part-time Adjunct Faculty - General Anatomy and Physiology Instructor. This position involves teaching an online, asynchronous course that will be conducted from August 26th, 2024, through December 20th, 2024. Individuals must be residents of Wisconsin, Florida, or Arizona in order to be considered for employment as Adjunct Faculty at Moraine Park Technical College. 

 

This position is responsible for the multiple modality delivery of instruction and facilitation of student learning and providing ongoing development of curriculum, assessment, and learning strategies to meet workforce needs. In addition, will provide regular student support and contact, or refer to the appropriate department, to meet the learner’s classroom and career goals.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for and facilitate learning in the assigned courses according to the College’s core values. Establish a professional and safe learning environment. Set the classroom tone by modeling appropriate workplace skills and behavior. Maintain a positive climate for learning by performing classroom management and being aware of, monitoring, and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Meet student learning needs by incorporating a variety of teaching methods and assessments.
  • Maintain student confidentiality, records, and documentation as required by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Submit grades within the expected timeframe.
  • Provide timely verbal and written feedback to the students to ensure continued growth and development.
  • May participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and updating of curriculum.
  • Assist with student recruitment and positively promote the College programs and services offered.
  • Promote retention and student success through the utilization of referrals to College services and resources.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with K-12, Department of Corrections (DOC), community, and industry partners beyond the classroom.
  • Actively maintain proficient knowledge and skills in emerging trends and current occupational practices. Complete annual professional development activities in areas of Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS) competencies. Complete all required training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Necessary Experience & Qualifications:

  • Must meet one of the following:
    • Master’s Degree in Biology or Kinesiology. 
    • Master’s Degree in any field/discipline and 18 graduate credits in Biology or Kinesiology.
    • For Thin-Layer and Occupational course instructors: Bachelor’s Degree, including 20 semester credits in Biology or Kinesiology with a minimum of 12 semester credits in the discipline being taught.
  • Upon hire, must maintain and/or obtain Higher Learning Commission, Faculty Quality Assurance System, and other agency requirements and licensure required to maintain individual and program accreditation, if applicable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with secondary, post-secondary, and adult learners.  
  • Ability to adapt teaching to multiple modalities including in-person, online, video conferencing (VC), and Teams. 

 

Any combination of necessary experience and qualifications which provides desired knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Work Environment:

  • Student learning locations may present the following hazard: chemical use.
  • Occupational health and safety hazards may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

 

Other Position Requirements:

  • Flexible scheduling may be required to include evenings and weekends.
  • This position may require travel to MPTC (Moraine Park Technical College) campus locations other than the base location, client/contract work sites, and/or Department of Corrections (DOC) institutions.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
