The Reliability and Maintenance Manager is responsible for optimizing the performance of the company's physical assets while controlling maintenance labor and material costs to meet plant performance objectives. This role leads a 24/7 maintenance team, overseeing diverse work schedules and managing a team that includes a Planner, Parts Administrator, Maintenance Lead, and Technicians. The position requires strong collaboration with plant floor personnel, the leadership team, engineering, external vendors, and contractors to ensure seamless operations and efficient maintenance strategiesResponsibilities Include:
- Oversee the maintenance and integrity of all plant assets, including production equipment, utilities, and facility infrastructure.
- Set departmental goals to enhance line efficiency, product quality, and equipment reliability.
- Focus on enforcing plant safety policies, including LOTO, confined space, electrical, and other safety standards.
- Improve the preventive maintenance program and maximize the use of CMMS tools.
- Build expertise in mechanical, electrical, and controls systems within the maintenance team.
- Identify skill gaps in the team and create training plans to address them.
- Set clear performance standards for maintenance technicians and activities.
- Track and monitor maintenance performance through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Implement predictive maintenance strategies to boost reliability and improve planned maintenance efficiency.
- Ensure efficient plant operations by effectively using engineering and maintenance resources.
- Promote strong communication between maintenance, operations, engineering, EH&S, and other departments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or a related engineering field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in plant engineering, reliability, project engineering, or maintenance management in high-speed manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of equipment reliability, preventive/predictive maintenance, lubrication, and precision maintenance.
- Experience with PLC programming (e.g., Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron, Siemens).
- Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and NEC regulations.
- Proficient in HVAC, boilers, compressed air, chilled water, and electrical systems.
- Experience using and implementing CMMS.
- Must be available for flexible hours, including weekends and on-call for 24/7 operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of Manufacturing Experience as a Reliability Engineer, Plant Engineer, or Maintenance Engineer
- Experience in Web Converting, Paper/Pulp Converting, or similar high speed, rotating equipment environment preferred.
- Experience with high speed and/or custom automation processes for assembly and machine tending.
