Banner Del E. Webb is currently an ACS level IV Trauma Center with a total of 10 surgical suites. We are on our journey to become the destination of choice for total joint replacements and the orthopedic Center of Excellence. As we, at Banner Del E. Webb, look to continue to advance and provide state of the art advances you will find Stryker 4K 1588 Advanced Imaging Modalities (AIM): ENV, IRIS, Clarity, DRE and Desaturation for Laparoscopic and Arthroscopic procedures; top of the line ENT navigation featuring the 3D electromagnetic Medtronic S8 AxiEM Fusion; and our orthopedic MIS spine procedures have the ability to utilize the Brainlab Airo® 32-slice helical scanIntraoperative CT.
Candidate must have a minimum of 1 year of experience. Preferred candidate will have a background in Ortho/Spine.
SHIFT DETAILS
Employment Type: Full-time
Hours per Week: 40HRS | 4'10's
Shift: 6:30 AM - 5 PM with varying day of the week off
On call, weekends, holidays: rotating with other staff on average 1-2 call shifts per week.
Enjoy a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-night shift differential when applicable.

With 391 licensed beds, the hospital provides a wide range of services, including acute medical and surgical services as well as intensive care, emergency and urgent care, inpatient/outpatient surgery, cardiac catheterization, neurology, orthopedics, oncology, urology, pulmonary, obstetrics and gynecology, outpatient diagnostic services, and adult behavioral services.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position selects and places surgical instruments, supplies and equipment during surgery. Scrubs and provides instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies during surgical procedure.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Prepares for surgical procedures. Pulls appropriate instruments and supplies and ensures good working order of instruments. Reviews case carts for correct instruments and supplies. Plans ahead for upcoming surgical case needs.
2. Anticipates the surgeon's needs. Passes instruments and retracts tissue.
3. Demonstrates the principles of aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout the procedure. Disposes of sharps and trash and places used supplies into case cart for processing. Participates in counting of sharps, instruments and sponges. Prepares instruments for cleaning following each case.
4. Ensures that all surgeon preference cards and pick lists are accurate.
5. Assists with OR turnover between cases. Participates in stocking, replenishing supplies and cleaning operating rooms.
6. May provide business support to the department including assigned administrative tasks.
7. Participates in or leads the training and orientation of surgical technology staff and students, as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED and current basic life support certification.
Where applicable must be registered with State Regulatory Agency
The position requires manual dexterity and the ability to maintain professional decorum in highly stressful emergent situations. The position requires the ability to be conscientious, organized, and orderly and the ability to respond quickly to the needs of the surgeon and patient.
Must stay abreast of new developments in the field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from a certified school of surgical technology or two years of operating room experience.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
