**Job Description:**
As a Sign Language Interpreter with Soliant Education, you will play a crucial role in ensuring effective communication between individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing and their peers, teachers, and other stakeholders. Your expertise in American Sign Language (ASL) and your ability to accurately interpret spoken language will provide access to educational opportunities and foster inclusion in the school community.

**Responsibilities:**
- Provide interpretation and transliteration services for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings, including classrooms, meetings, and extracurricular activities
- Interpret spoken language into ASL and vice versa, ensuring clear and accurate communication of content and context
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to facilitate communication and support the academic and social-emotional needs of students with hearing impairments
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while working with students, families, and school personnel
- Stay informed about best practices in educational interpreting and participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge

**Qualifications:**
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English
- Previous experience working as a sign language interpreter in an educational setting is preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to adapt interpreting techniques to meet the needs of diverse individuals
- Commitment to fostering accessibility and inclusion for individuals with hearing impairments
- Dedication to ongoing professional development and learning
