Certified Pharmacy Technician OP Pharmacy/Full-Time

POSITIONSUMMARY: Under the direction of a Staff Pharmacist,assists or supports the pharmacist as needed in all aspects ofefficiently dispensing medication, providing accurate service,preparing invoices and bills, ordering and maintaining drugs andmedical supplies.
Requirements
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High schooldiploma or equivalent required.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT, ExCPT),Maintains current registration with the NM Board ofPharmacy.
SKILLS:
- Thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical medicalsupplies and medical equipment preferred
- Basicmath skills
- Competent keyboarding skills ofthe technician level function of the pharmacy computerrequired.
EXPERIENCE:Six months as a Tech I or equivalent job experienceat SVH or another pharmacy required. Two years of experienceas a pharmacy technician, six months experience in retail customerservice
NATURE OFSUPERVISION:
-Responsible to: Director, Pharmacy, Outpatient PharmacySupervisor
ENVIRONMENT:
- Bloodborne pathogens- B - (Occasionalexposure in daily duties. Little expected risk but may beexposed unexpectedly to potential infectious materials. Exposure may be superficial and limited to a small amount offluid.) Close quarters in a busy environment. Low riskfor infectious disease. Possible exposures to hazardouschemicals, allergenic drug products and needle sticks. Moderate exposure to video display terminals.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ableto stand up for entire shift (8 to 12 hours), to stoop and bendover, to lift moderate loads (up to 30 lbs.). Hearing sufficient toanswer telephone and eyesight sufficient to read prescriptions andjob orders. Must be able to move throughout the hospital at a rapidpace to an entire shift.
