Radiologic Technologist

POSITIONSUMMARY: Performs radiographic procedures asrequested by physicians and Radiologist. Has a good understandingof advance anatomy. Provides excellent care for patients and anunderstanding that they may be in pain; follows AIDET guidelines.Makes sure to check positive identification before performing allexams. Has advanced knowledge of contrast media, how it affectspatients and what action to take in the event of a reaction. Checksand double checks all contrast before it is given to the patientand charts contrast usage appropriately in the patients chart. Ableto obtain diagnostic quality images for interpretation by aRadiologist. Has the ability to manipulate the x-ray machine toacquire adequate images even when the patients are not able tomove. Understand that the operating room is a priority andthat the surgeons needs need to be attended toquickly.
Requirements
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High schooldiploma or equivalent and graduation from accredited RadiologicTechnology Program required.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: ARRTand New Mexico State licenses required. BLS certification issuedthrough American Heart Association required within a month of hiredate.
SKILLS:Thorough knowledge of radiographic imagingequipment, anatomy and physiology, radiographic positioning,medical terminology and basic computer skills.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum oneyear experience required which can be substituted with clinicaleducation experience.

- Bloodborne pathogenC
Exposure to various body fluidsand ionizing radiation.
PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS: Prolonged, extensive orconsiderate standing and walking. Lifts, positions, pushesand or transfers patients and equipment in excess of 50lbs.
