Overview

Nexus Health is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to support our Orthopedic Department. This role will involve coordinating and administering CT/X-Ray radiologic exams, ensuring technical quality and timely reporting of results. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radiologic technology and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Perform radiological procedures with a high level of quality, confirming patient history and communicating areas of concern to physicians and others as needed.
  • Ensure films and records are properly completed with relevant patient identification data and film labeling requirements.
  • Compute and select proper technical factors based on patient size, physical condition, and suspected pathology.
  • Process and review films to ensure quality and completeness, hanging films and providing diagnosis-related information to physicians as needed.
  • Check equipment to ensure working condition and notify appropriate staff when repairs are needed.
  • Maintain supplies for diagnostic procedures and enter exam completion and charge information into the computer.
  • Provide protection for patients and self during all procedures, following all prescribed safety standards and ensuring the physical comfort and safety of patients.
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited school.
  • Minimum two-three years' experience as a CT/X-Ray Technologist.
  • Certification as a registered radiologic technologist (ARRT) required.
  • Current IV and CPR certifications required.
  • Certification in CT and X-Ray preferred.
Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role typically require full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination for operation and repair of all department equipment. The employee must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, lift and push patients in wheelchairs/stretchers weighing up to 300 pounds, and reach above shoulder height. The employee must also be able to sit/stand for extensive periods of time and have corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Work Environment

The work environment for this role involves direct contact with patients, potential exposure to blood, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
