Supplier Quality Engineer, Staff Level

Description:The Work
• Work in Supplier Quality Assurance capacity within an integrated program Subcontract Management Team and Quality Team environment.
• Take an active role in supplier development activities, as needed, to ensure long term program success.
• Collaborate with LM Program Quality, Engineering, and Sourcing functions to ensure LM requirements and quality standards are in place at suppliers in support of LM procurements.
• Prepare and maintain Supplier Quality Assurance flowdowns, in-process inspection and final inspection plans to assure supplier product compliance to LM and customer requirements.
• Travel to program dedicated suppliers is required. Travel frequency will vary based on program requirements and supplier performance and is expected to be approx. 25% per month on average. Travel is domestic.
• Perform regular supplier manufacturing process surveillance & product source inspections.
• Evaluate supplier Root Cause Analysis of nonconforming product and evaluate Corrective & Preventative Action plans for effectiveness. Facilitate Root Cause Analysis with suppliers, as required.
• Perform counterfeit risk assessments for LM suppliers.
• Facilitate creation of Counterfeit Risk Management Plans and lead team evaluations of electrical component procurements from Independent Distribution to assure DFAR compliance.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Technical discipline.
• Experience in the areas of Quality Assurance and Electro-Mechanical equipment manufacturing.
• Proficient in reading Engineering Drawings, Schematics, and Performance Specifications including working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Proficient in First Article Inspection (FAI) document review.
• Proficient in defect data analysis, including Root Cause Analysis methodology and ensuring effectiveness of Corrective Action Plans.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 / ISO9001 Quality Management Systems and associated surveillance experience
• Quality Assurance oversight experience on Subcontract-type procurements.
Desired Skills:
• TS/SCI (Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmentalized Information) Clearance is required.
• Strong, proven Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering design theory knowledge base
• Experience in manufacturing processes and verification methods for complex electro-mechanical assemblies
• Knowledgeable in electrical component-level design selection, verification, and alternative component risk evaluation
• Proficient in counterfeit prevention and/or detection practices/procedures
• Proficient in reading and writing procurement Statements of Work quality requirements
• Highly effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to facilitate cross-functional team problem solving and influence cost-effective solutions
• Proficient in fostering working relationships, both internally with supporting functions as well as with suppliers at all functional and leadership levels
• Experience in Contract Capture efforts and providing costing inputs to proposals
• Self-starter with effective time management skills and able to work with high level of autonomy
• Proficient in SAP, P2P, EPDM and Microsoft applications

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
