Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist

Location: West Chester, Pennsylvania

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary: We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate will provide excellent speech and language services to students, collaborating with educators and parents to promote student success and effective communication skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments and screenings to diagnose speech and language disorders in students.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific needs.
  • Provide direct therapy to students with speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support and enhance student progress.
  • Maintain detailed records of student assessments, progress, and therapy sessions.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development activities.
  • Provide consultation and training to school staff and parents on speech and language development and intervention strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Pennsylvania state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Pennsylvania Department of Education certification as an Educational Specialist Speech and Language Pathologist.
  • Experience working in a school setting is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required Licensure and Certifications:

  • Pennsylvania Speech-Language Pathologist License
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
  • Pennsylvania Department of Education Certification as an Educational Specialist Speech and Language Pathologist
  • Passing scores on relevant Praxis exams (if required by the state)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform job duties that may include lifting, bending, sitting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to handle the physical demands of working with young children and students with special needs.
