IT Systems Administrator

Key Role:

Install, configure, and maintain mid-range operating systems. Apply specific functional, working, and general industry knowledge. Develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work independently with some guidance and review or guide activities of junior employees.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience assisting engineers with administration and general IT support on self-managed special use development hardware, including determining operating system configurations and tools needed to address an issue or need
  • Experience with Windows Operating Systems, including Windows 10
  • Ability to perform system administration functions for systems under development during pilots
  • Ability to serve as the point of contact and manage reporting and coordination between engineers using self-managed special use machines and leadership
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Associate’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with servers in a DoD environment
  • Experience with Linux, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ubuntu variants
  • Experience with DevSecOps enabling tools or technologies such as containers technologies
  • Experience with general IT support tools such as Jira or Gitlab
  • Experience with virtualization tools such as VMware and KVM
  • Ability to deploy, configure, and support operating systems on desktops or laptops

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
