Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Location: Bedford, Ohio

Job Description:

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our educational team in Bedford, Ohio. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating students with speech, language, and communication disorders. The SLP will work closely with educators, parents, and other professionals to support the academic and social success of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each students needs.
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students in individual and group settings.
  • Track and document student progress, making necessary adjustments to therapy plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, contributing to goal setting and progress reviews.
  • Maintain detailed and timely documentation, including assessment reports, therapy notes, and progress updates.
  • Stay informed about current research and best practices in speech-language pathology.
  • Offer training and support to teachers and staff on speech and language development and disorders.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Current Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology license.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
  • Ohio Department of Education (ODE) Pupil Services License.
  • Experience in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of speech and language development and disorders.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of professionals.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position based in Bedford, Ohio.
  • Work will primarily take place in school environments, including classrooms, therapy rooms, and offices.
  • Regular interaction with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Occasional travel to other schools within the district may be required.
