SUMMARY STATEMENT

The Director of Leadership Development works at the direction of the Executive Director of Human Resources and Campus Safety, and closely with the President and senior leadership to understand the College’s strategic direction regarding leadership development. The Director is responsible for developing, evaluating and coordinating the College’s leadership development program to align with the mission, vision and strategic plan of the College. This responsibility includes assessing the needs of leadership and then developing high quality and sustainable training and leadership development opportunities for aspiring and experienced leaders. The position also supports the goals and needs of the President and the Board, and provides direct support to divisions as needed for team building, employee coaching and contract administration.


ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

A. This position reports directly to the Executive Director of Human Resources and Campus Safety.

B. This position coordinates most closely with senior leadership, the President, and the Human Resources Department.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Designs and coordinates delivery of professional development to ensure College leaders have the knowledge and skills to be successful in their roles.

Monitors the quality of the leadership development program by collecting, analyzing and responding to data points to ensure expectations are met.

Collaborates with the President, the Executive Director of Human Resources and Campus Security and senior leadership to develop leadership training, coaching, and team building for divisions and staff.

Provides support to the President as needed and directed.

Supports the collective bargaining processes which may include coaching the team, serving as a member of the negotiating team, and providing a training program targeted towards leadership skills in a unionized environment.
Instructional Designer (ISD) - analysis, design and development leadership development curricula campus wide.

Coaching and team management: set high expectations and hold teams accountable to those expectations; the ability and desire to coach and develop individuals and teams to reach short- and long-term goals

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
Master’s degree in educational leadership, leadership development or related field ten years of demonstrated successful leadership in senior level position, preferably in public education. Specific experience designing and facilitating leadership development programs
