Position Description

This role is on our Aviation team. The Aircraft Mechanic is expected to perform servicing and maintenance on our company business jet fleet, tooling, and ground support equipment. May be required to assist the Aircraft Cleaner in performing his/her assigned duties when necessary. May be asked to assist the Hangar Facilities Manager in performing maintenance on the Hangar and associated facilities as necessary. Aircraft Mechanics may be assigned as Crew Chief to specific aircraft in order ensure their assigned aircraft conforms to its type design and is in condition for safe operation. This position functions 24/7, working nights and weekends as needed.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Handle departures and arrivals of company aircraft including
    • Assisting crew with preparing for a departure
    • Perform post flight inspections
    • Assisting crew with preparing for a departure
    • Service aircraft as required
    • Towing/ground handling
    • Fueling
    • Cleaning
    • Assist with passenger baggage and ground transportation

    • Perform post flight inspections

  • Perform servicing, & scheduled or unscheduled maintenance on our fleet of aircraft including but not limited to:

    • Act as Crew Chief for assigned aircraft(s)

    • Troubleshooting and repairing squawks

    • Assisting with scheduled inspections

    • Loading navigation & charts databases
    • Downloading trend monitoring data
    • Battery servicing
    • General servicing
    • Be completely familiar with aircraft maintenance schedule and maintenance documentation including aircraft Maintenance Publications, Return to Service procedures, Service Bulletins, and Airworthiness Directives
  • Service ground support equipment
    • Tug maintenance
    • Snow blower
    • De-ice cart
    • External power carts
    • Man lift
    • Floor scrubber
  • Assist Aircraft Cleaner with duties as required:
    • Exterior & interior cleaning
    • Waxing
    • Lavatory servicing
    • Trash removal
  • Assist with hangar/facility maintenance including
  • Floor cleaning
  • Keeping hangar and grounds clean
  • Ordering hangar supplies
  • Attend technical schools and seminars as required
  • Comply with all company managed OSHA and HAZCOM programs and procedures
  • Work with Chief of Maintenance and Assistant Chief of Maintenance as required to perform their duties
  • Additional duties as specified by Chief of Maintenance, Assistant Chief of Maintenance, or Director of Aviation
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Read and write English
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificates
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience actively maintaining business jets
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Applications
  • Strong Mathematical skills
  • Understanding of aircraft materials and their properties
