Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our school-based team in Palm Springs, CA. The SLPA will assist Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in providing therapy to students with speech, language, and communication disorders, supporting their academic and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist SLPs in conducting assessments and evaluations to diagnose speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the SLP, providing direct therapy services to students.
  • Conduct therapy sessions as directed by the SLP, both individually and in group settings.
  • Monitor and document student progress, reporting findings to the supervising SLP.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' communication and learning goals.
  • Assist in developing and adapting materials and activities for therapy sessions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions and student progress.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field.
  • Valid SLPA license or certification in California.
  • Previous experience working with students with speech and language disorders is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
