Responsible for strategic planning, process improvement, manufacturing, employee relations, and operations of the company. Manages all material functions for the flow of materials through production to customer, ensuring maximum customer service, minimum inventory investment, continuous improvement, and efficient plant operations. Work directives will include guidelines from our German headquarters. Provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls, Customer-specific and ISO/IATF requirements, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.AUTHORITY: All employees have the authority to stop operations/production for the following three reasons: 1) a quality defect, 2) an unsafe act, or 3) a health hazard.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all processes internal and external. Provides timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the company. Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes Helps drive efforts to improve plant productivity, reduce scrap, and lower overall costs. Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the plant infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organization. Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company and drives the development of the production team. Directs implementation and execution of plant, quality, safety, and environmental policies and practices throughout the organization. Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decisions making issues affecting the organization. Establishes standards for waste reduction, quality, safety, environment, and complete operations performance. Responsible for identifying and driving improvements on Scrap which will have a positive impact on scrap costs, sorting costs, and overtime. Establishes manufacturing policies, techniques, capacity planning, production scheduling, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations and performance measures. Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships. Oversees budgets to ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements. Drive continuous improvement through involvement with Lean Manufacturing projects. Responsible for lean implementation and layout optimization for manufacturing floor footprint. Leads the development and communication of methodologies leading to continuous process improvement throughout the factory by focusing on the needs of the customer, empowering employees, optimizing existing activities in the process, and developing natural work teams. Manages factory project tracking systems for driving business results and communication. Utilize value stream mapping techniques to design optimal flow patterns for information, material, and production methods. Ensure customer requirements are met on a continual basis. Provide leadership to subordinates for individual and group development. Develops internal planning for new and existing product. Review cost improvement ideas and manage implementation. Responsible for the following budgets: headcount, overtime, etc. Establish goals and objectives with plant staff. Standardize and follow best practices within Operations/Production. Communicate cost savings initiatives and assign support for defined projects. Effectively perform any other duties as assigned or deemed necessary and appropriate.QUALIFICATIONS Experience, Competencies and EducationAn experienced leader and manufacturing executive with appropriate industry experience, preferably in the automotive manufacturing field. An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image. A strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus. A well organized and self-directed individual who is "politically savvy" and a team player. An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills. A good educator who is trustworthy and willing to share information and serve as a mentor. A decisive individual who possesses a "big picture" perspective.
