Technical Accounting Manager
Dallas, TX – hybrid, 4 days onsite

One of Vaco's legacy $1B+ clients is looking to build out their financial reporting and technical accounting team as part of an upcoming transaction.  Key focus will be to onboard a Manager to assist with memos regarding goodwill impairment, going concern, etc. as well as purchase accounting and researching new ASU's. 

The local team has GREAT tenure and we've received great feedback on leadership and workplace culture (big on team building events, celebrations, VERY outgoing group.) 

Compensation: $120-145K + Bonus

Responsibilities
  • Provide expertise and guidance on technical accounting matters, including but not limited to revenue recognition (ASC 606), lease accounting (ASC 842), financial instruments (ASC 320/825), business combinations (ASC 805), and stock-based compensation (ASC 718).
  • Lead the research and analysis of new accounting standards and interpret their impact on the organization. Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the latest guidance.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements and disclosures in accordance with GAAP. Work closely with external auditors to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Identify areas for improvement in technical accounting processes and internal controls. Lead initiatives to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of technical accounting functions.
  • Work closely with the finance, legal, and operational teams to provide accounting insights for business decisions. Provide training and support to non-accounting departments on technical accounting matters.
  • Provide technical accounting support for acquisitions, including purchase price allocations, integration of acquired entities, and alignment with GAAP principles.
