Full-Time Special Education Teacher Position in Providence, RI

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities, in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities, adapting instructional materials and strategies to meet individualized goals and promote academic, social, and behavioral progress
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure that students with disabilities are fully included and supported in the general education curriculum and school community
- Conduct ongoing assessment and progress monitoring to evaluate students' academic and functional performance, and adjust instructional plans and supports as needed to address their evolving needs
- Utilize evidence-based teaching practices and instructional technologies to enhance student engagement, participation, and achievement in the classroom
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, attendance, and behavior, and communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and other stakeholders regarding students' educational goals and achievements
- Participate in individualized education program (IEP) team meetings, multidisciplinary collaboration, and professional development activities to support the continuous improvement of special education services and outcomes for students
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field
- Rhode Island state certification or eligibility for certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience working with students with disabilities in a school-based setting preferred
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to promoting inclusive practices and ensuring equitable access to education for all students
