Clinical Educator Ambulatory ClinicalEducation/Full-Time

POSITIONSUMMARY: In collaboration with Clinician Groupleadership and Organizational Development participates inassessment of educational needs of clinical, non - clinical staff,and front office staff; participates in development of curriculum;conducts research to obtain most recent information aboutidentified topic; delivers curricula to targeted groups includinginstruction in theory and provision of clinical experience;evaluates effectiveness of curricula through analyses of classparticipation, feedback and written tests; participates inworkshops designed for career advancement of clinic staff;instructs staff of all levels in orientation and other programs;supervises learning experiences of staff in programs; acts as arole model to nursing, medical assistants, and health care officestaff by demonstrating and teaching professional behaviors;participates in and delivers approved continuing education programsto enhance professional competence; prepares and submits reports asrequired; maintains records of those persons participating ineducational programs; protects human and civil rights of patientsand or clients and staff; may participate on committees and inrecruitment process; performs related duties as required, and willbe called upon to work some nights or weekends depending on theeducational needs of theorganization.
Requirements
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: AssociatesDegree in Nursing, (ADN) required. Bachelors of Science in Nursing(BSN) preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES:Current New Mexico RN license, BLS issued through American HeartAssociation certification required.
SKILLS:
- Advanced knowledge of quality and safety programs,research, regulations and data management
- Considerable knowledge of outpatient clinic operations,principles and practices
- Knowledge ofteaching, coaching and evaluation of principles andtechniques
- Basic leadershipabilities

EXPERIENCE: Three yearsof clinical experience with one year of leadership/educationexperience (lead or charge nurse) preferred. One year of experienceperforming analytics and research preferred.

ENVIRONMENT:
- Bloodborne pathogen B: - Ifinvolved in clinical contact.
Works in aclean, well-lighted, smoke free environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Intermittent physical effort such as walking, standing, sitting andthose activities involved with patient care, occasional pushing,pulling, and lifting. Moving educational equipment and supplies asneeded for classes. Flexibility in schedulingrequired.
