Location: Onsite at Tyrrell County Schools, with occasional virtual opportunities

Description:

  • Role: Tyrrell County Schools is seeking a School Psychologist for the 2023-2024 school year to join their close-knit community in Columbia, NC.
  • Schedule: The position offers a flexible schedule, with hours typically from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. The candidate has the opportunity to curate their own schedule to accommodate their needs.
  • Itinerant Position: The School Psychologist will serve three school sites within the district, including elementary, middle, and high schools, all located within a mile of each other.
  • Primary Duties:
    • Collaborate with the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Team and attend meetings to support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
    • Attend select Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of educational plans for students with special needs.
    • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students' eligibility for special education services and provide recommendations for intervention and support.
    • Work primarily with elementary students, comprising 85% of the caseload, and collaborate with teachers to address students' academic and behavioral challenges.
