Employment Type: Hourly Contract (through Soliant Education)

Job Description: We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Preschool Teacher to join our team in Columbia, NC. As a Preschool Teacher, you will be responsible for providing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for our young students. This position involves teaching in a general education setting with a classroom of 18 students, supported by an onsite paraprofessional.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of preschool-aged children.
  • Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment where each child feels valued and respected.
  • Utilize various teaching strategies to accommodate the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to assess student progress and address individual learning goals.
  • Maintain open communication with parents regarding their child's development and any concerns or achievements.
  • Supervise and support the paraprofessional assigned to the classroom, ensuring effective teamwork and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (required).
  • North Carolina teaching license/certification (required).
  • Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and early childhood education best practices.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and administrators.
  • Dedication to creating a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.
