Analyzing data for possible errors, if necessary, initiating and performing corrective action.Review Negative Balances reports and edits for adherence to governing regulations, policies and procedures.Testing of the Banner system and Budget related systems.Assist departmental users with budget and personnel questions.Understanding and utilization of systems and data to provide financial and analytical support including analyzing budget for reasonableness and overspending.Produce and maintain complete well-organized documentation. Assist in preparation of Annual Operating BudgetActively continues personal education and development.Train department users on Budget related systems.Ability to design and prepare financial management reports from budget and accounting records.Should posses extensive PC skills, including knowledge of Enterprise systems, Internet, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.The individual should have strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to meet specific deadlines.Individual should also have excellent problem-solving, analyzation and decision-making skills along with excellent oral and written communication skills.Grant Funded?No Pay Grade Minimum16.89Pay BasisHourly Schedule DetailsM-F, 8-5Work LocationLubbockPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business Administration with at least 9 hours of Accounting. Responsible work experience in an institution of higher education may substitute for a degree.Five years of experience in governmental or financial management work with experience in institutions of higher education highly desirable.Experience working with Budget, Human Resources and/or financial data and systems in a professional setting.Prior experience working in creation and maintenance of budgets.Prior experience/utilization of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft suite programs.Knowledge of Banner, Cognos, and other TTUS Systems.DepartmentBudget Office Lbk Required AttachmentsResume / CV Job TypeFull Time Pay StatementCompensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan.
