School-based Physical Therapist
Location: La Feria, TX
Are you a dedicated Physical Therapist seeking a fulfilling opportunity to work with students in a school setting? Join our team in La Feria, TX, for the academic year from August 19th, 2024, to May 22nd, 2025. We are looking for a compassionate and skilled professional to support a caseload of 6-7 students in grades 6th through 12th.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students' physical abilities, motor skills, and functional performance.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address mobility, strength, coordination, and endurance goals.
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to integrate therapy goals into students' academic and daily routines.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Educate and empower students, families, and caregivers on exercises and strategies to promote independence and enhance overall well-being.
Schedule:
- Work hours between 8:30 am and 3:00 pm CST, aligning with the school day schedule.
- Part-time position based on student needs and scheduling flexibility.
Requirements:
- Masters degree (or higher) in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current license to practice Physical Therapy in the state of Texas.
- Experience working with school-aged children preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Passion for helping students achieve their physical and educational goals.
