We have an immediate career growth opportunity with our Information Workplace Services team for a talented mid-level Linux Systems Administrator. This is an opportunity to work in a highly collaborative, multi-platform, multi–disciplined, classified systems environment resolving support issues for the engineering community using helpdesk and task assignment methods.

**This position is onsite in St. Petersburg, FL. **

What YOU will do:

  • You will integrate multi-level security and insider threat mitigation technologies.

  • You will develop infrastructure and service management concept of operations.

  • You will develop and maintain automation capabilities to streamline and secure technical processes.

  • You will develop and maintain disaster recovery plans.

  • You will plan for capacity and monitor performance and service availability.

  • You will administer backups and diagnose backup errors.

  • You will maintain strict access control to all networks and IT infrastructures.

  • You will partner with application/project/security teams and vendors to plan, design, and implement new IT infrastructure.

  • You will manage client agents for server monitoring as well as agents for server management.

  • You will proactively management of infrastructure to help maintain a healthy environment.

  • You will provide technical leadership and mentorship to 1st and 2nd level system administrators.

  • You will maintain infrastructure security standards for all systems & employ security hardening techniques.

What YOU will Learn:

  • You will foster relationships with your DT peers all over the world that work and WANT to work at Collins.

  • You will learn how to create and maintain technical and detailed design documentation.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position (U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder).

  • Experience hardening systems using tools like SCAP and following STIGs

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance (Secret) is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • UNIX, Linux and/or Windows administration experience

  • Systems deployment, administration, performance tuning, and monitoring experience

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance

  • DevOps experience

  • Cloud computing (AWS, Azure) experience

  • Experience with the following Microsoft technologies: SCCM, KMS, MDT, and WSUS

  • Exchange and Lync

  • Familiarity with Splunk & Centrify products

  • CompTIA Security+ certification or other industry-recognized certifications relevant to a Windows System Administrator

  • Experience with Solaris 10

  • BASH Scripting

  • Familiar with Chef, Ansible, Puppet, CFEngine, etc

  • ITIL Foundations and/or ITIL Service Operations

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
