Our client, a consumer products company, is seeking an Interim Inventory Accounting Manager. This role involves overseeing all aspects of inventory accounting, including variance analysis, inventory reserve calculations, and account reconciliations. The position offers a unique opportunity to design and execute monthly financial and operational reporting surrounding inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor quarterly cycle count process and system reconciliations with the Operations team.
  • Research and resolve variances between book and physical inventory values.
  • Prepare and review period-end entries, account reconciliations, and account analyses.
  • Act as the inventory liaison for external auditors, preparing work papers and analyzing data.
  • Facilitate period-end closings and ensure timely completion of inventory close-related responsibilities.
  • Evaluate, develop, and implement accounting and operational policies and procedures.
  • Perform detailed variance analysis on assigned accounts.
  • Create ad-hoc reports and analysis as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, with 7+ years Accounting experience, including supervision and management of accounting staff. 
  • CPA is required with 3+ years of audit experience from a global or national Accounting firm (Big 4 a plus)
  • Public Company experience and/or consumer products company experience a plus
  • Inventory accounting experience.
  • Excellent knowledge and application of US GAAP
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong project management skills
  • Direct experience with Accounting ERP systems (NetSuite | SAP preferred)

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:

  • the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;
  • other business and organizational needs.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
