Examples of Essential Functions:

  1. Perform all required procedures through proper positioning and technique, consistently demonstrating good judgment in evaluating the resulting diagnostic studies.
  2. Screen patient before exam for any contraindications or precautionary measures pertaining to the exam (e.g. pain, claustrophobia, allergies, etc.).  Obtain and review the requisition for examination to obtain information such as doctor’s order, patient history, and any other special requirements.
  3. Thoroughly explain procedure and answer any patient questions in order to alleviate patient anxiety and facilitate patient cooperation.  Monitor the condition of any patient within the department and assist the radiologist in performing any needed medical attention.
  4. Comply with company policy and procedures.  Comply with hospital policy, procedures, and emergency plans.
  5. Maintain the diagnostic equipment by cleaning, disinfecting, and handling with care.  Maintain work area in an orderly manner.  Check to ensure emergency equipment is in good working order.  Report any problems with equipment to supervisor.
  6. Prepare examination for interpretation by the radiologist to include correct identification and processing of films, clinical history, and previous exams for comparison (if available.)
  7. Assist radiologist during the administration of contrast media, practicing aseptic technique as required.  Recognize allergic reactions, and respond in accordance with procedures for emergent patient care.
  8. Practice and maintain standard precautions and infection control policy standards.
  9. Assist with patient scheduling and patient preparation prior to examination.
  10. Assure that each patient receives the highest quality service possible.
  11. Conduct examinations with regard to patient’s age, condition, or other special needs.
  12. Comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations, and the company’s policies and procedures.
  13. Perform other projects as may be requested by US Mobile Imaging, LLC.
