School Nurse

Calling on California-licensed RNs who are either mid-career and looking for a job change, or who are retired but not ready to hang up their nursing hats

Soliant is working with a school in the area of Hayward, CA, and is seeking a contract School Nurse (RN) for the remainder of the school year.

Requirements:

  • California RN license OR
  • California School Nurse Services Credential
  • CPR certification

Scope of duties:

 
  • Evaluate students and triage based on the extent of their healthcare needs
  • Co-ordinate vision and hearing screenings
  • Plan for public and community health measures to minimize the spread of infections disease in a school setting
  • Provide individual or group health counseling
  • Notify staff about specific health problems of students
  • Recommend modifications to the IEPs (Individual Education Plans) for pupils with health conditions or developmental issues
  • Maintain student cumulative health records. 
  • Advise the Health Services team regarding the health budget and the ordering of health supplies.
  • Oversee health education for students
  • Serve as resource to students with an interest in a career in healthcare 
  • Supervise staff and volunteers supporting the health team
