Production Manager

The production manager plans, manages, and supervises the production of goods or services to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. Their responsibilities include: 
  • Communication: Liaising with other departments to ensure a smooth production process 
  • Team leadership: Leading, mentoring, and motivating a team of production staff and engineers 
  • Continuous improvement: Participating in initiatives to streamline processes and reduce waste 
  • Scheduling: Planning and creating production schedules 
  • Resource management: Managing equipment, facilities, and supplies 
  • Budgeting: Estimating costs, negotiating budgets, and ensuring production is cost-effective 
  • Quality control: Setting and enforcing quality standards, monitoring productivity, and implementing quality control programs 
  • Safety: Ensuring health and safety guidelines are followed and addressing concerns immediately 

Production managers may also be responsible for:
  • Hiring, training, and evaluating workers
  • Analyzing production data
  • Writing production reports
  • Organizing the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment
  • Overseeing production processes
  • Renegotiating timescales or schedules as necessary
  • Selecting, ordering, and purchasing materials

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:

  • the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
