Position Summary:

Job SummaryLeadership & Engagement is looking for enthusiastic, responsible students to join our team. This L&E Intern will provide information to students, faculty, staff, and guests of the university. They will serve as the student liaison for fraternity and sorority life, advisors, alumni, faculty/staff and the community. This position will work closely with L&E professional staff and be supervised by the Director of Leadership and Engagement. This role also provides support and training to chapters on leadership development, compliance, recruitment, anti-hazing and programming assistance. This position is 15-20 hours per week and requires summer, fall, and spring hours (remote work negotiable during summer). In addition to regular office hours, L&E student assistants must be available to work evenings and weekends. This position is defined as a non-exempt position under FLSA regulations.Specific Responsibilities· Co-Facilitate trainings for fraternity and sorority student leaders, organization members, and faculty/staff advisors on compliance, anti-hazing, TiPs leadership development, etc.· Answer questions related to event registration and fundraising.· Work closely with the FSL presidents and executive board members in all matters of chapter concerns and questions, in addition to helping organize and host the monthly President’s Meeting and House Manager Meetings.· Work with other L&E student assistants and managers to manage OLE@susqu.edu email address to respond to emails in an appropriate amount of time with correct information.· Manage chapter exec and new member transition process and roster updates on Presence.· Assist FSL chapters with event planning (registration, location and tech reservations, etc.).· Create and manage an OLE FSL social media account with weekly posts on happenings in FSL.· Attend SGA (monthly) and L&E professional staff meetings to inform each group of upcoming processes or events that impact the department or organizations and clubs.· Attend Interfraternity Council (IFC) and Panhellenic Committee meetings on an ad-hoc basis, to discuss matters of FSL, if and when they arise.· Plan and staff programs that are related to FSL such as the "Meet the Greeks”, Halloween on the Ave, Greek Week, FSL info sessions, the “Big Event” community service day and others.· Work the L&E reception/information desk, as needed depending on workload throughout year.· Assist students with sign-ups and registrations related to OLE programming.· Assist with Lost and Found Service.· General office work, i.e., distribute mail, scan/print, maintain forms available to students and staff, refill printer.· May be asked to drive golf cart or university minivan. University certification required.· Office hours worked not at the information desk to dedicate time for assigned projects will be required.
Learning Objectives· At the end of the academic year, the student will be able to identify the core values and beliefs of fraternity and sorority life.· At the end of the academic year, the student will have learned how to troubleshot during events, programs and FSL traditions.· At the end of the academic year, the student will have improved in customer service and have created connections across campus.· At the end of the academic year, the student will have engaged and helped train all chapter executive boards in matters of compliance.

Required Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesMust have a pleasant phone manner, excellent customer service skills, have a professional attitude, be courteous and punctual. Must be able to work independently and with interruptions. Must be willing to learn and work robustly in Presence. Ability or desire to facilitate trainings/workshops. Willingness to ask questions for self and on behalf of others and communicate questions and answers. Must have valid driver’s license.
