A well-designed secure network is critical to moving data and enabling DoD to achieve its mission, but how can an organization make sure its network will fit its current and evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That’s why we need you, a network security engineer, who knows how to craft the exact network, the DoD needs. As a network security engineer on our team, you’ll work with the DoD to develop a reliable, secure, network to support critical missions.

You’ll collaborate with SMEs, customers, vendors, and users to learn the strategic goals and operational needs that shape the network requirements. You’ll then share your expertise during the planning of the acquisition, installation, configuration, and maintenance of the network components. From resolving interoperability issues across platforms to supporting hardware acquisition, you’ll put your hardware and software talents to good use. This is your chance to share your experience with backbone networks, cloud technologies, and core networking while broadening your security and network engineering work. You’ll dive into challenging hands-on problem-solving, and encounter opportunities to learn new tools and skills. We focus on growing as a team to make the best solutions for our customers.

You Have:

  • Experience with designing, deploying, and advanced support of multi-protocol IP backbone and access networks

  • Experience in deploying, upgrading, and troubleshooting multivendor network equipment and solutions, including VMWare, Cisco, Palo Alto, Dell, HPE, or Juniper

  • Experience with operating, deploying, or administering Linux or Unix systems and VMWare

  • Ability to plan, develop, and perform lab performance, functional, and integration testing

  • Ability to provide on-call Tier 3 operational support for emerging networks

  • Secret clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

  • Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification within 6 months of start date

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with security, routing, and switching protocols, including BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, LDP, RSVP, VPLS, IPsec, STP, or L3VPNs

  • Experience with STIGing or security hardening of systems

  • Experience with NESSUS, ACAS, or security analysis tools

  • Experience with Secret classified networks

  • CCNA, CCNP, VMWare, Linux, JNCIA, or JNCP Certifications

  • Security+ Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
