Job Summary:

As an Underground Electronics Platform lead you will be responsible for managing the Caterpillar Minestar for Underground detection component portfolio. The team you lead is responsible for the design, development, test, sourcing and quality of the electrical and electronic components.

What You Will Do:

• Lead (product owner) team that is responsible for design, sourcing, delivery and maintenance of Caterpillar Minestar for Underground detection product.
• Overseeing project progress and costs; communicating status with stakeholders and participating functional areas; addressing and resolving problems.
• Directing project staffing; motivating and developing project team and team members.
• Communicating with customers and managing expectations; ensuring effective use of project controls and reporting mechanisms.

Education Requirement:

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.

Electronics Engineering - HTH:
• Anticipates the challenges and opportunities associated with creating printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies
• Advises on matching methodology, materials and tools to the electronic product that is being built.

Supplier Management - MFG:
• Facilitates supplier partnering arrangements that share risk and reward.
• Monitors supplier performance; works to resolve discrepancies between performance and agreements.
• Builds and maintains partnerships with suppliers.
• Evaluates issues and maintains supplier relationships as appropriate; works with purchasing and legal departments.
• Ensures the fulfillment of report and record-keeping requirements.

Troubleshooting Technical Problems:
• Evaluates business impact of failure and the criticality and timing of needed resolution.
• Coaches others how to resolve communication problems in multi-vendor environment.
• Applies specific techniques for isolating a problem and defining resolution approach.

Additional Information

The location for this position is Mossville, IL and Bibra Lake, Australia.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Any relocation costs incurred would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

This position will require less than 20% travel.
