JOB TITLE: Chief Psychologist
GENERAL JOB SUMMARYAre you ready to lead a team dedicated to the nuanced care of youth in a critical assessment phase of their lives? As the Chief Psychologist of our Juvenile Crisis & Assessment Centers, you'll be at the helm of clinical oversight, ensuring the highest standards of psychological assessment and ethical practice. Your impact will be felt directly, shaping the lives and futures of those in our care. This position will oversee our clinical services across four juvenile crisis and assessment centers, as well as provide some consultation and support to other divisions across the agency, including therapeutic foster care, dual diagnosis youth programming, in-home services, and early childhood consultation.
This position involves monthly travel throughout our service areas, to include Asheville, Winston-Salem, Butner, Raleigh, and Kinston.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES- Administer assessment center programs with a keen eye on our mission and ethical guidelines.
- Provide clinical oversight and expert supervision to our dedicated clinical staff.
- Elevate our assessment systems and processes to the pinnacle of best practices.
- Design and implement cutting-edge testing protocols tailored to evolving clinical needs.
- Offer expert guidance on challenging cases and provide routine clinical supervision.
- Train and collaborate with our clinical team to ensure excellence in assessment.
- Ensure each youth receives the care they deserve, overseeing assessments and reports.
- Customize testing formats to meet the unique needs of each individual.
- Maintain the integrity and effectiveness of our assessment systems.
- Engage with relevant departments, offering clinical insight and support.
- Occasionally provide expert testimony in court, ensuring our assessments stand strong.
- Support groundbreaking research initiatives, driving our understanding forward.
- Embrace additional tasks and challenges as assigned by our dynamic leadership team.
Position reports to: Senior Director of Juvenile Services
Position supervises: Clinical staff including Psychologists, Contract Psychologists, and Clinical Case Managers.
QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge: Doctoral degree in clinical or forensic psychology, with a license to practice in North Carolina.
Experience: Two or more years of direct service provision, diagnosing, treating, and evaluating clients. Supervisory and management experience preferred.

- Prior experience in court testimony preferred.
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Computer literacy, advanced writing, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, high-stress environment.
- Possible exposure to infectious diseases.
- Must pass a drug screen and post-employment physical.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and the ability to drive throughout the service areas.
- Physical demands associated with daily operations.
- Ability to produce accurate documentation and communicate professionally.
