POSITION SUMMARY:

The Facilities Helper will assist Facilities Craft in the installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC and facilities equipment. This position can be utilized as a developmental role to allow the selected candidate to further develop his/her mechanical aptitude in preparation for potential future advancement opportunities in the Maintenance group.

COMPENSATION:

Starting pay for this position is $18.00/hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Transfer tools, parts, equipment, and supplies to and from workstations and other areas

2. Perform facilities equipment routine general maintenance

3. Perform minor facilities equipment repairs

4. Perform office area general maintenance and repairs

5. Read measuring tools such as tape measures & calipers

6. Interpret drawings and lay out of facilities equipment

7. Support Facilities Craft in the maintenance and repair of facilities equipment and systems

8. As a team member, follow all safety, quality, and safe quality food (SQF) rules

9. Performs other duties as directed by supervisor

EXPERIENCE:

Previous maintenance helper experience preferred but not required

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Basic carpentry skills
  • Basic troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic applications
  • Ability to read voltage meters
  • Ability to read schematics a plus
  • Basic cutting & grinding skills
EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or GED required

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be well organized, and be a team player.
  • Computer knowledge (SAP, Excel, Word)
  • Good oral and written skills
  • Good organization skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
