In this position, you will provide community support for rebuilding efforts after catastrophic events and protect against future hazards. . Typical assignments include:

Serving as a member of the regional recovery staff on policy for aiding individuals and/or communities during and after emergency events.
Executing emergency program operations to deliver effective recovery support services to impacted governmental, nongovernmental, and private sector organizations.
Developing and implementing standards, regulations, practices, training, and exercises to recover from hazards, threats, and crises.
Serving as a Recovery program technical specialist responsible for application of law, regulations, and policies, and procedures.
Managing recovery projects and explains agency policies and technical aspects of programs to affected individuals and communities.

What else do I need to know?

Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
