POSITION OVERVIEW

An Operator A safely and efficiently operates the process of crushing, grinding, flotation, regrind, filter plant monitoring and tailings to ensure successful operation of the Concentrator.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Safely and efficiently operate the six (6) ore processing circuits at the Concentrator and Secondary Crusher. Operate equipment including overhead cranes, loaders, bobcats and forklifts. Inspects, cleans, operates and maintains equipment such as crushers, conveyers, grinding mills, rock hoppers, feeders, screen decks, hydrocyclones, flotation equipment, filtration equipment, slurry pumps, slurry thickening equipment, dust suppression systems, trommel screens and tailings equipment. Use of general hand tools including crescent wrenches, socket wrenches, air impact wrenches, allen wrenches, screw drivers, ball pen hammer, shovel, channel locks, nylon and wire cable slings. Work is usually performed as part of a crew and teamwork is essential. Assist maintenance during mechanical down time. Perform necessary cleanup in assigned areas. Perform assigned duties in Concentrator when time permits. Works safely around moving equipment while using required safety equipment. Pre-operational check and servicing of all assigned mobile equipment. Awareness of environmentally sensitive areas and correct problems that may develop in the assigned area. Keep supervisor informed of any problems affecting assigned work.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Applicant must have good communications skills (oral and written). Must be able to manage time effectively and set priorities. Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks and troubleshoot problems. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals in English. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to write routine reports. Math skills with ability to compute rate, ratios, and percentage and interpret graphs and charts. Must be capable to lift minimum of 50 lbs. Availability to work any shift, including weekends and holidays. (Shifts may be rotating; operations are (24/7/365). Ability to physically perform light to heavy work over extended periods of time, often under unfavorable working condition and inclement weather.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must have high school diploma or GED. Must have at least five (5) years of demonstrated experience in an operating position in an ore processing facility. If the candidate does not possess the necessary 5 years of experience, a lower Operator position can be offered based on the candidates' qualifications.
