POSITION OVERVIEW

TheConcentrator Cleanup Laborer is responsible for safe and efficient cleanup as needed and in other areas as directed. Responsible to know and follow all special safety rules in the grinding, flotation and thickening process areas of the Hayden Concentrator Operations, the Ray Complex Safety Rules and the General Lockout procedure. When time and opportunity permit, attain the qualifications of and safely assist others and perform the duties of the next higher positions in the grinding and flotation sub-department such as: Flotation Utility, Ball Mill Operator and Slag Handler.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Complete cleanup assignments mainly with hand-held tools; work safely around moving and/or rotating equipment while using the required personal protective safety equipment. Perform a pre-operational check, servicing of and operation of all assigned mobile equipment. Operate light mobile equipment as trained and directed. Perform cleanup with water avoiding unsafe conditions of water on motors and other electrical equipment and be able to work and move hoses safely while standing on slippery surfaces. Learn how to shovel safely and to use correct lifting techniques. Learn how to perform a competent work place examination for hazards before starting work. Keep foreman informed of any problems affecting assigned work. Be aware of environmentally sensitive areas and be alert to correct environmental problems that may develop in the assigned work area. Complete all required AMS Critical Procedures. Other duties as determined from time to time to facilitate operations, safety, environmental concerns and community involvement.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Shovels, water hose, air lance, rakes, scrapers, wheel barrows. Light equipment such as front end loaders and pickup trucks.
MATERIALS USED:
Conveyors, pumps, grinding mills, rotating equipment, feeders, structural shapes, grease, oil, rags, cleaning solvent and water.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Applicant must be able to communicate in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to solve practical workplace problems after exposure to a situation. Availability to work any 8 to 12-hour rotating shift, including weekends. Ability to walk or stand greater than one-third of the time, or sit no greater than a third of the time. Ability to reach with hands and arms; use hands and fingers to handle and feel. Ability to climb, balance, kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl. Capability to work in elevated and or confined spaces. Ability to climb ramps or stairs repeatedly and to climb vertical ladders occasionally. Ability to work in a desert climate with a wide-ranging temperature environment including being in the sun for long periods. Ability to lift 50 pounds several times. Ability to wear a respirator in workplace conditions containing fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation. Ability to wear hearing protection in areas of high sound levels. Visual requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree). One year related industrial experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH & SAFETY
Incumbent will be required to receive training or instruction in the area of Safety & Health awareness including completion of the appropriate OSHA and/or MSHA training. Required to receive training or instruction in the area of environmental Awareness.
