Senior Illustration Artist

In 2009, Riot released its debut title League of Legends and has since gone on to become the most played PC game in the world and a key driver of the explosive growth of esports. Delivering visually stunning experiences for a global audience while also building new games gives artists exciting and complex problems to solve. Here, artists are working not only with one another, but also side-by-side with game designers, narrative writers, audio designers and engineers to ensure that each piece of content from Riot reaches the level of quality players deserve. From animations to illustrations, cinematics to comics, characters to environments, we work as a team to put players first.
As a Senior Illustration Artist for the League of Legends Splash Illustration team your craft expertise and eye for illustration will help deliver deep engagement and rich fantasy worlds to our players. You will report to the Illustration Art Manager on the Splash team, and be a key member of your discipline community. You will support the craft and execution across the whole splash team by collaborating with teammates and cultivating excellence. You will produce high quality promotional splash illustrations, with an excellent eye for light, color, composition, dynamic anatomy, high-fidelity rendering and storytelling. Responsibilities
Consistent craft executor of high-quality 2D Splash Illustrations with little oversightAssist the splash team in maintaining the bar for excellenceSharing of craft expertise and knowledge through discipline community, mentorship and art collaborationParticipate in style guide creation, team rituals, and getting involved in consistent feedbackRequired Qualifications6+ years of industry experienceShowcase ability to create high quality 2D Splash IllustrationsExcellent proficiency in art fundamentals, visual storytelling, anatomy, lighting, materials and color theoryComfortable in Splash Style including character focused illustrations with stylized anatomy, heroic compositions and cinematic/realistic believabilityExperience creating high end digital art assets in Adobe PhotoshopExperience with 2D Illustration asset creation pipelinesDesired QualificationsExperience working in-house with creative teamsExperience owning and effectively communicating about projects and workflowAAA Game Development experienceFamiliarity with League of Legends Characters, IP Universes and LoreAs a part of the application process, candidates will be required to provide a portfolio of their work.
