**Job Summary:**
Practice Physician Lead (\"PPL\") is a WellStar Medical Group physician that serves as the physician leader of his or her practice. The PPL will serve as the liaison between the Medical Group and his or her practice for all matters regarding the delivery of medical services, program management, and medical operations.
The PPL will serve as the principal physician leader of his or her practice. In addition to maintaining an active clinical footprint, the PPL will support the mission, vision, goals, and values of the WellStar Health System, primarily through collaboration with executive leadership in shaping and managing the implementation of the WellStar strategy, while focusing on clinical excellence through the provision of quality, consistent, patient-centered care across the WellStar Health System as it relates to the practice of medicine
The ability to communicate with all levels of staff that include providers, employees, and c-suite executives is a must. The PPL must have operational knowledge, leadership skills that promote a positive culture of engagement, actively problem solve, promote a thoughtful and respectful work environment.

MD or DO degree from an accredited school of medicine.

Board certified as required for the specialty of practice.

Minimum 5 years practicing as a physician in a healthcare setting.

Demonstrated leadership skills and knowledge.
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively in multi-specialty medical groups.
Excellent physician relations skills and previous experience in growing volume and managing quality improvement.
Skills including strategy development, program evaluation, budget preparation, and execution of programs and services to achieve quality standards.
Excellent understanding of clinical and technology trends related to the delivery of healthcare services.
Excellent communication skills verbal, written, listening, and presentation along with the confidence to favorably represent the organization in both formal and informal settings.
