The Merchandiser Assistant II (MA II) has primary responsibilities for effectively performing administrative accounting tasks relating to the business unit(s) assigned in an efficient manner following all company and market group policies and procedures. This position will perform bookkeeping functions, logistical support and documentation requirements surrounding our Canola and Soybean crush business, including the procurement, production and outbound sales.

This individual is a key person responsible for accurately carrying out the workflow over the life cycle of a trade, from initial transaction through all stages of execution. The role is responsible for maintaining positive customer relations with internal and external customers, as well as third parties (railroads, vendors, etc.). The MA II exhibits excellent teamwork with other business units and personnel and assists in training new merchandisers and merchandiser assistants (MAs).

The MA II proactively monitors and reports inventory and credit risk as well as reviews reports for his/her assigned business units and serves as a primary resource for merchandiser and MA questions. Assist merchandiser team with accounting responsibilities to ensure prompt payment of invoices. Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, freight analysis, freight register and other miscellaneous reports on a daily/weekly basis.

?Responsible for accurate and timely reporting. Oversees purchase and sales contracts along with delivery transactions into the CTRM system from pre-advise to final settlement stages in a timely manner. Maintains an organized filing system which includes invoices, contracts, reports and payment receipts.

Responsible for printing proper bills of lading, collection letters and checks (as needed). Provide customer support and coordinate logistics. Will handle challenging issues from MA team and escalate, with recommendations, to the merchandisers if needed.

Assist merchant team with customer questions. Provide accurate and timely logistic or billing support (eg freight support including railroad and trucks).? Collaborates with operational management at the Crush facility for handling production and associated costs in Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Communicate business position, inventory and miscellaneous adjustments with merchandiser team. Reconciles business unit trading position/inventory daily. Collaborates with the merchants/plant operations/accounting at month end for any final P&L adjustments.
