Overview Insmed is looking for an associate scientist to contribute to our investigations in discovery pharmacology. The successful candidate will contribute in designing and executing investigative ex vivo and in vivo studies in support of various therapeutic developments in Insmed's portfolio.
Responsibilities Key Responsibilities
Perform ex vivo assays, including but not limited to cell culture, PCR, flow cytometry, ELISA, and isolated tissue/organ (e.g. lung) preparationsPerform in vivo dosing and necropsyMaintain records in Electronic Lab NotebookAnalyze and interpret dataPrepare technical reports and deliver presentationsCollaborate with other scientists to accomplish cross-disciplinary objectivesQualificationsBachelor or Master degree in a life sciences-related discipline such as Physiology, Pharmacology, and Cell/Molecular Biology5+ years experience (for Bachelor degree) or 3+ years experience (for Master degree) in executing ex vivo and in vivo experiments in an industrial or academic setting(Preferred) Knowledge of pulmonary physiology and pulmonary disease models(Preferred) Knowledge of drug delivery and/or experience with inhalation therapyExtensive hands-on experience in handling rodents (mouse and rat) and performing dosing (intratracheal, intraperitoneal, subcutaneous, oral, and intravenous) and endpoint assessment (blood collection and tissue harvesting)Ability to independently maintain cell culturesAbility to independently perform molecular biology techniques and biochemistry techniques, including but not limited to PCR, flow cytometry, ELISA, enzyme activity assay, fluorescent microscopyAbility to independently research and design experiments with a full understanding of underlying scientific principlesStrong verbal and written communication skillsBeing highly motivated in researchBeing open to new tasks and challenges
Salary Range
Insmed takes into consideration a combination of candidate's education, training, and experience as well as the position's scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, and external market and internal value when determining a salary level for potential new employees.
The base salary range for this job is from $89,000.00 to $119,267.00 per year
