Chemist III/Sr PV

The Chemist III/Sr is a subject matter expert and single point of contact for an assigned Chemistry functional area, program and equipment.
Facilitates and reviews work activities.
May provide direction in all phases of schedule development including on-line, planned outages and short notice outages.
May be tasked with reviewing and validating plant clearance and permits and requirements are supportive of Chemistry related processes.
Provides direction in development of schedules that maintain maximum Chemistry-related equipment reliability and system availability.
Provides technical direction for adjusting schedule dates to support unanticipated events.
May represent Chemistry in on-line and outage scheduling activities.
Minimum Requirements
Chemist III:
A four-year Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a Physical Sciences discipline from an accredited college or university plus five (5) years of experience in chemistry positions.
In lieu of a Bachelors degree, combination of college coursework and/or experience in chemistry positions equaling nine (9) years.
Ph.D. with an emphasis in chemistry may be applied towards one (1) year experience.
Master's degree with an emphasis in chemistry may be applied towards one (1) year of experience.
Chemist Sr:
A four-year Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a Physical Sciences discipline from an accredited college or university plus eight (8) years of experience in chemistry positions.
In lieu of a Bachelors degree, combination of college coursework and/or experience in chemistry positions equaling 12 years.
Ph.D. with an emphasis in chemistry may be applied towards one (1) year experience.
Master's degree with an emphasis in chemistry may be applied towards one (1) year of experience.
Preferred Special Skills, knowledge or Qualifications:
Knowledge of plant operations and technical specifications in area of expertise.
Completion of at least one program knowledge transfer plan.
Possess strong project management skills.
Nuclear experience.
Nuclear requirement:
Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.
Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage.
This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.
