Role Summary Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and provide direction to the Manufacturing Engineering Team 
  • Coordinating Program Reviews defining expectations
  • Provide support for maintenance planning for all phases of Equipment 
  • Actively support Lean, Six Sigma, in all Manufacturing Processes
  • Lead / participate in Design for Manufacturing and Design for Cost reviews through the PDP Process
  • Lead in developing tooling standards and verification
  • Creation of Manufacturing flow charts and equipment capacity studies
  • Lead for all new Program Capital Expenditures
  • Maintain Capacity database and provide reports as required.
  • Hold bi-weekly reviews of plant layout.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Industrial / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering required where a Bachelor Degree would be an asset
  • Minimum of 10 - 12 years Engineering and Manufacturing experience required in the Automotive and/or Automotive Supply Base sector focusing on Assembly Methods, Molding, Coating and Tooling
  • Experience in an Integrated Product Development Team environment required
  • Knowledge of Problem Solving methods (Red X,  Six Sigma,  8D, etc…) required
Additional Information
  • Understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturability) methods and processes
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Techniques and variable / flexible standards
  • Knowledge of Customer Specific requirements (TS16949 / ISO9000 / ISO 14001) and industry Standards
  • Understanding of Asset re-utilization and effective planning to limit asset impairment.
  • Knowledge and execution experience as it relates to APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow
  • Proven ability to create and execute project plans that have achieved the identified targets
  • The ability to develop and maintain Program Status Reports (Program Management Templates) and use reports as a Management Tool for performance monitoring against Customer (internal / external) expectations
  • Transparency in communications with the understanding to escalate when appropriate for assistance in resolution
  • A continuous improvement mentality and the ability to apply this personal capability and knowledge to the companies processes, products, and associates (mentoring)
