As a Senior Piping Designer in the Jacobs CMS - Nuclear Projects and Consulting business unit you will work with design team to create equipment arrangements and piping design deliverables using SmartPlant S3D. Additional responsibilities will include coordination with other disciplines working in BIM models, working with piping engineering, and working with designers and engineers in other disciplines to deliver a fully coordinated and collaborated BIM project model. The Senior Designers will be responsible for providing leadership, checking and oversight for the creation of the design deliverables such as orthographic, isometric and detail drawings. Additionally, designers will assist in interference detection and resolution and correlation with the P&IDs produced from SPID.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • 20 or more years of experience in job related field

  • A comprehensive knowledge of Piping Systems and ANSI B31.3

  • 10 years using BIM tools for Plant Design

  • Chemical and/or nuclear process industrial mechanical/piping design experience

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the Basic Qualifications the ideal candidate might also have:

  • Trade School or Associates Degree

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Exhibit integrity and the highest quality in all activities

  • Self-motivated, team-focused professional

  • Self-starter with the ability to learn new design software

  • Previous nuclear and chemical piping design experience

  • Attention to detail

Essential Functions

Work Environment  

Office environment is preferred.

Telework an option for this role with period office visits for various meetings.

May be exposed to areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, explosives, chemicals and industrial facilities if site visits are required. 

Physical Requirements:  

Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions.

Must be able to move and sit for extended periods (100%) as well as and lift up to 35 lbs (25%). Vision correctable to 20/20. Candidate must have the ability to read and use SmartPlant design software unassisted.

Equipment and Machines:

Standard office equipment provided - PC, monitors, mouse & Keyboard. telephone and copier (in-office only), job related software (SmartPlant design) and other related software provided

Attendance:

Regular attendance mandatory (100%)

Overtime/work outside normal schedule possible (as needed)
