Nourish is addressing this healthcare crisis by helping people eat better. We connect chronic disease patients with a Registered Dietitian via telehealth and get it covered by their health insurance.

 

We launched two years ago and already have hundreds of dietitians and tens of thousands of patients on the platform. Our patients span a wide range of nutrition-related conditions including diabetes, eating disorders, kidney disease, GI conditions, cancer, obesity / weight management, cardiovascular disease, and more. We are live in all 50 states.

 

We are growing quickly, have partnered with national health insurance companies and provider groups, and have raised over $44M from top-tier VCs including Index Ventures, Thrive Capital, Y Combinator, and Box Group, amongst others. Our angel investors include world-class healthcare founders from Oscar, Rightway Health, Headway, Spring Health, and Alto Pharmacy, as well as soccer star Alex Morgan and the founders from Olipop and Notion.

About the Role

As Payer Strategy Lead, you will play a pivotal role in building strategic relationships with payers and supporting payer operations. You'll be instrumental in the creation & execution of our payer strategy roadmap, and work across all stages of the payer contracting and partnerships lifecycle. You will be responsible for developing deep relationships with our payer partners and establishing Nourish as a top-performing, innovative provider partner. Your work will shape the future of Nourish as you lead our exploration of value-based care and other innovations that will expand the strategic value of our payer relationships and deepen our impact on our patients.

This person will report into our Head of Payer Strategy and work closely with stakeholders & functional leads across the organization. This is an in-person role out of our New York office (Flatiron), with flexibility for some hybrid work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analysis and research to inform our payer contracting strategy; leverage insights to refine our payer strategy roadmap and develop plan for execution
  • Lead our contracting efforts as we expand our coverage across the country
  • Develop deep relationships with our top payer partners and help to drive key strategic initiatives
  • Execute on priority Payer Strategy projects from start-to-finish
  • Create reports and dashboards to track our go-to-market progress and to establish rate and payer coverage forecasts
  • Perform ongoing and ad-hoc data analysis to support decision-making
  • Own build and maintenance of team reporting dashboards, tech stack, and resource bases; memorialize best practices via continued build of Payer Strategy playbook
  • Proactively identify opportunities to increase efficiency of our payer operations and independently pull together plans to execute on those opportunities

We’d love to hear from you if:

  • You have 3-4 years of experience in management consulting / investing (additional experience in healthcare strategy / ops preferred but not required)
  • You are a people person - you love building deep relationships and thrive at thoughtful communication both internally and externally. You are comfortable working cross-functionally and can adapt your working style to work across a variety of stakeholders (our patients, healthcare payers, our internal team, etc.)
  • You enjoy high-level strategy & problem solving, but also aren’t afraid to get into the weeds when needed
  • You take extreme ownership over projects/initiatives you lead
  • You enjoy new challenges and jump in headfirst when facing an issue. You are able to adapt to the situation at hand and can be flexible in your approach when new circumstances arise.
  • You have strong data analysis skills and are comfortable using data technology (e.g., Excel, Metabase, Alteryx, etc.)
