About Evansville State Hospital



Evansville State Hospital is one of the Indiana State Psychiatric Hospitals who are committed to the mission of Hope and Recovery. Residing on 88 acres on the east side of Evansville, Ind., our facility provides medical treatment for chronic mental illness and substance abuse disorders from our dedicated team of psychiatrists and advanced practice professionals. Active Treatment helps our patients achieve their goals directed towards living in the most non-restrictive environment possible.

Our team of professionals assist our patients in the treatment process involving medical staff, nursing, psychology, social work, rehabilitation therapy and our community integration program. Evansville State Hospital continues to maintain accreditation through The Joint Commission as an Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital as well as Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services certification as a Psychiatric Medicare/Medicaid Hospital.

 

Salary Statement: 

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $29,588.00, but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows: 

-Plan cleaning schedules and coordinate staff housekeeping schedules. 
-Establish work rules to ensure regulatory compliance with the Indiana State Department of Health, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.  
-Coordinate and supervise temporary services for additional manpower.  
-Develop annual budget requirement for cleaning materials and equipment. 
-Responsible for ordering and purchasing materials and supplies from vendors. 
-Prepare, maintain, and submit various housekeeping and office reports. 
-Conduct inspections of housing for clean, safe, and sanitary conditions. 
-Prepare and coordinate work requests for repairs. 
-Recruit, select, onboard, and train employees to ensure role responsibilities and expectations are clearly understood while providing opportunities to continue professional development. 
-Set expectations, measure progress, provide ongoing feedback, and evaluate the performance of employees.  Ensure work adheres to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures.

What You'll Need for Success:
You must meet the following requirement to be considered for employment:

-Must hold and maintain a valid Indiana driver’s license. 
-Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with the public, contract workers, co-workers, subordinates, and supervisors. 
-Thorough knowledge of housekeeping methods, procedures, materials, equipment, and sanitation standards. 
-Ability to delegate work, set clear direction, and manage workflow. 
-Ability to effectively give feedback, provide guidance or corrective action, coach, and develop employee skillsets. 
-Ability to conduct inspections of facilities. 
-Ability to make reports and maintain records and files. 
-Ability to inventory supplies and equipment.

-Working knowledge of appropriate facility standard operating procedures

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may provide direct supervision for one or more staff members.
