Custodial Worker

Summary

This position is with MWR at Presidio of Monterey, CA.

Incumbent will primarily perform duties at Child and Youth services activities, but may be required to work in other activities as needed. Management may assign staff to locations as mission requires.

Duties

• Prepares and delivers sanitizing bleach solution for use in classrooms, sanitizes toys that have been handled by children, replenishes classroom supplies when required, delivers program supplies and materials to classrooms, etc
• Empties diaper pails and/or trash, returns food carts to the kitchen after meals and snacks, and cleans up after classroom accidents (child illness and toileting, water on floor, etc) which may pose a threat to child safety
• May be required to clean floors and tables after meals and snacks. Provides routine light cleaning/dusting of classrooms/activity areas and materials as required
• Picks up soiled linens from classroom and carts them to the laundry room. Washes and dries linens and towels using standard, household grade laundry machine and dryer; returns clean linens to classrooms
• Sweeps/mops using standard equipment such as brooms and vacuum cleaners.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
