NextDecade Corporation is an energy company accelerating the path to a net-zero future and leading innovation in more sustainable LNG and carbon capture solutions, NextDecade is committed to providing the world access to cleaner energy. Through our wholly owned subsidiaries Rio Grande LNG and NEXT Carbon Solutions, we are developing a 27 MTPA LNG export facility in South Texas along with one of the largest carbon capture and storage projects in North America. SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:

This Sr. Planner & Scheduler position to support time management of EPC LNG Projects. Typically, the project cost is multiple billions of dollars with duration of up to five years. The purpose of this role is to support the development, updating and forecasting of Level 1 and Level 3 schedules. Analysis of Contractors' baseline and monthly schedule updates.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop AACE Level 1 through level 3 schedules for FEED and EPC projects. Review and analyze contractors' Progress /Earned Value reports. Review and analyze contractors' monthly schedule updates. Integrate multiple schedules into a Master Project Schedule (MPS) utilizing Primavera P6. Update Schedules and perform critical path and variance analysis. Analyze potential change orders and its impacts on project schedule. Gather and analyze information to prepare status reports. On-site visits to analyze construction progress including quantity verification. Identify adverse trends based on project performance. Facilitate and participate in schedule reviews. Prepare formal presentation related to project status. Prepare and present weekly and monthly Schedule and progress Reports.


Minimum education, experience, and skills:

Bachelor's degree in construction management, and/or Engineering. 12+years of relevant experience in planning and scheduling on Major Oil & Gas/Power/LNG projects. Must be Advanced user of Primavera P6 including cost, resources, and quantity loading. Experience with Acumen Fuse and Acumen Risk is a plus. Experience with Milestone Professional is a plus. Experience with Power BI or Tableau is a plus but not required. Good understating of planning and scheduling fundamentals such as CPM method, floats, constraints, relationship types. Knowledge of Engineering and Construction techniques and relationships (logic) between various project phases as well as activities dependencies. Knowledge of project controls techniques for full project life cycle executions. Ability to perform Earned Value calculations/analysis for EPC projects. Strong analytical skills, and advanced skills with spreadsheets, charts, and presentations. Advanced user of MS Excel. Good understating of MS PowerPoint, and Word. Good judgement, trust, and care in handling sensitive and confidential information. Strong organizational and time management skills to work independently and prioritize workload during peak periods. Ability to identify and implement actions with minimum directions.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Initial assignment in Houston may require frequent visits to project site during construction phase to gather information for progress and schedule updates.

Work Environment

Must be able to wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions. Operates in a complex construction environment. Exposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditions. Not necessarily protected from weather and temperature changes. Possible exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy weather conditions. Exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical circuits. Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds of a pitch level sufficient to cause marked distraction. Routinely uses standard office and field communications equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers w/scanner and fax, and radios.

Ability to move throughout all areas of the facility, including being physically capable of traveling to a designed muster point during emergency situations.
