Job Summary:  The Program Manager for Player & Youth Development (PYD) is responsible for the growth, operation, and visibility of PYD programs in the Southeast Los Angeles (SELA) community. This position involves leading the development and implementation of youth and golf programs and supervising a portion of the SELA team.   The Program Manager is key in achieving community objectives and metrics, representing the SCGA and the SCGA Junior Golf Foundation to the public, and cultivating strategic partnerships and relationships. Additionally, this role drives team professional development and advances the foundation's mission through effective program management and proactive community engagement.  Responsibilities:  Management 
  • Organize and schedule programming and activities in accordance with the SCGA Junior Golf Foundationâs mission and PYD program goals and objectives. 
  • Monitor and manage expenditures to maintain budget compliance. 
  • Recruit, hire and supervise staff and oversee their development. 
  • Develop and implement strategic growth and expansion objectives. 
  • Ensure goals and objectives are met in areas including customer satisfaction, safety, quality, and team member performance. 
  • Implement and manage program modifications to ensure program goals are achieved. 
  • Assist in the planning of short and long-term strategies and objectives. 
  • Develop and maintain community relationships and partnerships to benefit the program, including managing the community committee. 
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to support program activities 
  • Develop and implement volunteer retention and recognition strategies. 
  • Coordinate volunteer recruitment, training and schedules and assignments to maximize efficiency and impact. 
  • Develop and execute outreach strategies to attract and engage community members 
  • Build and maintain relationships with local schools, organizations, and stakeholders. 
  • Represent the organization at community events and meetings to promote programs. 
  • Collaborate with partners to identify and address community needs. 
  • Track and report on outreach and recruitment metrics to evaluate effectiveness and inform future strategies. 
  • Collect, record and produce accurate and timely reporting of program details. 
 Golf Instruction 
  • Serve as a lead golf coach at beginner, intermediate, and advanced level classes and other events as necessary while promoting best practices regarding safety and SCGA Junior Golf Foundation policies.  
  • Accountable for overseeing and implementing all program and safety policies at SELA facilities. 
  • Leads and supports PYD activities that reach across the entire department. 
  • Provide regular supervision and feedback to staff.  
  • Foster relationships with golf facilities, parents and juniors to develop the program further.  
 Other 
  • Participate in professional development, including management training, positive youth development training and the Titleist Performance Institute.  
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned by the management team. 
 Essential Qualifications:  
  • Bachelorâs degree in a related field or a combination of relevant education and work experience  
  • Minimum of two years' youth coaching experience preferred. 
  • Minimum of two years' golf coaching experience preferred. 
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience preferred. 
  • Three to five years of youth development experience preferred. 
  • Adheres to deadlines, prioritizes work activities, and ensures successful execution of multiple projects. 
  • Analyzes and processes diverse information with accuracy and thoroughness. Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues promptly. 
  • Communicates clearly and persuasively, both orally and in writing. Demonstrates excellent group presentation skills and professional yet approachable demeanor. 
  • Integrates diverse viewpoints and works effectively with staff, volunteers, and industry stakeholders. Listens to others and resolves conflicts constructively. 
  • Adapts well to changes in the work environment, implementing effective changes to improve results. 
  •  Continuously seek ways to improve and promote quality. 
  •  Works within the approved budget and manages resources efficiently. 
  • Demonstrates initiative, works well independently, and is detail oriented. 
  • Proficient in registration and database software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • Passion for Youth Development: Demonstrated passion for junior golf and youth development. Knowledge of the game of golf and ability to instruct others. 
  • Productivity Standards: Meets productivity and quality standards set by the SCGA Junior Golf Foundation. 
  Additional Qualifications:

Must have reliable transportation with sufficient space for transporting supplies and equipment. If using a personal vehicle, a valid California driver's license and proof of auto insurance are required.

The role requires occasional travel, as well as availability to work on weekends and evenings. The typical work schedule is Saturday through Wednesday, with duties performed across various locations, including SELA facilities, the SCGA office in Studio City, and other PYD programming sites. Physical Demands:  Must be able to utilize a golf club and demonstrate golf skills while teaching lessons. The employee must move to multiple locations on a golf course while instructing students. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee frequently interacts with golf facility partners and supervises staff and youth.    Work Environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work in both an office environment and outside for the PYD program, and the noise level varies depending on the location.

The starting pay for this role is $67,000.00/year.
