We are looking for a Accountant II reporting directly to the local Finance Manager, who will provide general accounting and analytical support for the St. Peter manufacturing site. YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
-
Participate in the monthly and quarterly closing processes by completing all required reports and documents within the month and quarter-end deadlines.
-
Create and enter journal entries into the system for an advanced number of accounts under your responsibility.
-
Perform the financial analysis of an advanced number of accounts within your responsibilities such as accounts receivable, accounts payables, intercompany accounts and bank reconciliations.
-
Play an active role in the monthly financial reporting activities by preparing, analyzing and summarizing results.
-
Lead the cash forecast process by estimating, in collaboration with the business, incoming inflows and outflows.
-
Participate in the budget and forecast exercises through variance analysis.
-
Develop an expertise of the ERP and financial system (Distribution Plus) by understanding its functionality, its interconnection with the manufacturing operations and developing a solid understanding of the data.
-
Track costs and profitability and contribute to finding ways to improve them.
-
Proactively identify financial risks and opportunities in your scope of responsibilities and recommend actions to take.
-
Assist in Internal Control for generally accepted accounting principles and business activities.
-
Assessing gaps opportunities to improve efficiency in order to make process improvements.
-
Participate and influence various “ad hoc” projects ensuring their contribution to the Marine Group’s financial objectives.
YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
AND COMPETENCIES:
Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field with 4 plus years of experience; or other equivalent combination of education and experience totalling 8 years in relation to the role.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills: create spreadsheets with formulas, pivot tables, extract data and summarize in excel.
-
Month-end close process or journal entries
-
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage priorities.
-
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, rigor and ability to work independently.
-
Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization, gaining trust of employees, peers and management.
Preferred:
-
Experience with CRM/ERP systems.
-
Experience working in a global manufacturing environment.
-
Experience with reconciling general ledger accounts.
